Decline in the Number of Franchising Car Dealerships

  1. I find this an interesting post, because before buying my car I went to 3 different dealers to bargain for the best price. After two days of bargaining, I already knew how the entire dealer process works, from the moment you cross the door and get attacked by the salesman, to the moment you leave with your new car. After watching these four dealers bullshit at each other, and say whatever lies they could just to sell the car, I have to say the process is not very transparent at all. The technological side of the auto dealers looks like an amazing idea to me if they make it work. Being able to bargain a car online seems to good to be true in my opinion. You are probably going to be ripped off most of the time. If they already rip you off in person, I honestly can't imagine how worst it would be online. Buying a car is definitely something one has to do in person. I see it as buying a house. You have to be there, feel it, and get the price, all at once.

  2. I find it extremely questionable to be negotiation over email and agreeing to a price without ever seeing the car. Negotiating should be done face to face, or worst comes to worse a phone call, but texting or email for negotiating is just taboo to me. It is definitely true that people are coming into dealerships educated about the car type that they are interested in. Salesman do whatever they can to put you in a brand new car and exaggerating the truth a little bit is definitely something that they will do. Two things if you're willing to spend a lot of money on a car at a dealership personally I would like to know everything about the car is was buying and if a salesman is bending the truth its always a good thing to know that. The idea of being able to handle the negotiations and select your car online is very convenient as buying a car is a huge hassle and usually a long process, but a I feel it is a necessary evil and something about buying a car online just wouldn't feel right to me.

  3. I definetly would not trust this method of technological dealership making my transactions. I believe that if I am going to get sold by something I should be actually convinced that it is going to benefit me for the better. I also believe that this can affect the buyer greatly, with errors and even a little bit of money stolen without us even knowing. I believe that a transaction has to be done face to face for it to mean something, if we are not there, there is alot of room for lying or cheating and the client will always end up losing. In my opinion this would not work.
